Interclub League Rules
A team must comprise of 3 players selected by merit by the Competiton Organiser.
All teams must appoint a captain.
The captain of each team shall, before the commencement of play, supply the first and last names of their players.
The captain shall toss a coin for the right of choice of position on the team sheet and shall then organise the matches.
Players are prohibited from wearing white or light-coloured or light reflecting clothes that might tend to unsight an opponent. Players must wear non-marking shoes.
Play to start at 6:30pm. If both team captains agree, the contest can be played up to 6 days after the planned date but must be completed before the next scheduled contest.
Players must be listed in order of merit on the team sheet based upon latest published Marlborough ranking list.
Players arriving over 30 minutes after the time agreed upon may not play without the opposing captain's consent.
A team must have at least 2 players present to be a contest. If a team cannot front at least 2 players 30 minutes after the time agreed, the team must default and the opposing team is awarded all available points for the contest.
Matches shall be played in the order shown on the team sheet. Some variation to that when circumstances dictate otherwise. All 12 matches must be played for three player teams.
Matches shall be best of 5 games up to 11, with 2-point advantage from 10 all.
If a player or players cannot play, the team captain must request a fill-in player from the Competition Organiser at least 1 day before the scheduled contest.
Where, owing to circumstances beyond the control of the teams, the contest is unable to be completed on the day arranged, the play, when resumed, will commence from the score at which it stood when play previously ceased.
The team winning the most matches shall be deemed the winner. If matches are equal, games will decide the winner. If games are equal, points will decide the winner. If matches, games, and points are equal, the contest shall be deemed a draw.
The team declared the winner will gain their match score plus 1 point to be added to the round scoreboard.
The team with the most scoreboard points in the round will win the competition, or the Competition Organiser may advise before the start of the competition that a playoff may be played to determine the competition winner.
The captains of the teams must give the completed and signed contest results sheet to the Competition Organiser before the end of the day the matches were played.
All players must ensure their respective membership and table fees are up to date before play commences. Unfinancial players' points will not be recorded against the round scoreboard.
Three-star plastic balls to be used.
If any dispute arises, the matter shall be decided by the Executive Committee of the Marlborough Table Tennis Association.
